Wreath Making Evening
The wreath-making evening was oversubscribed, to put it mildly! However, Tracey, Clang and Victoria, the organisers, were over the waning moon and apologised to anyone left out in the cold!
The cost was £10 and included drinks, nibbles and wreath bases. With voluntary contributions, the event raised over £200 towards the cost of new curtains in the Village hall
This was an evening for residents of the parish and elsewhere to join together in the spirit of Christmas and be creative, so makers were asked to bring some of their own foliage and materials to add to the bases. Holly, ivy, spruce, dried flowers, fruit, Christmas baubles, fresh flowers, twigs, berries, herbs and cinnamon sticks were all on display.
For those who felt daunted at the thought of making their own wreath, Victoria demonstrated the art of wreath making and the team arranged a tuck shop of materials to use.
Feedback from those who joined in was fantastic, with many saying how much better and more friendly the event was than that held at a nerby stately home.
