Nunnington Hall
The earliest recorded mention of a Hall at Nunnington was made as far back as 1249. Since then, the building has been altered and grown to its current configuration. It was made over to the national trust by the Fife’s after the war.
The Hall reopens after the winter break on 14 February 2024 and is open from 10:30 to 4 pm every day except Monday up to and including 3 March. From 5 March, the Hall is open to visitors from 10:30 to 5 pm every day except Monday 11 March and Monday 18 March.
The last entry is 45 minutes before closing time, and the National Trust waives the entry fee for residents of the parish.
The Hall is home to the famous Carlisle collection of miniature rooms, gifted to the National Trust in 1970 and brought to Nunnington Hall in 1981.
The Hall also hosts a programme of exhibitions, including photographer Valerie Mather’s portrait of rural life in Bransdale, Fields, Folds and Farming Life which runs until 24 March. Artist Robert Dutton, a Nunnington resident, will be exhibiting his paintings with those of Andrew Moodie in A Yorkshire Year, which will run from 14 September until 15 December 2024
