Over two weekends we cleared up the litter on the main North South road from the Ricall Bridge to the top of Caulkleys Bank.

Over two weekends we cleared up the litter on the main North South road from the Ricall Bridge to the top of Caulkleys Bank.

Thanks to Sue Elphinstone for organising the litter picks, and for liaising with NYC to obtain pickers, bags, making signs and buying high viz jackets.

Thanks to all who came along, and especially to those who gave up their early Sunday morning on 24 September to clear the North Road, when the traffic was light and the operation less hazardous.

It was a good morning, but we were unimpressed with the amount of litter we picked up, as we all agreed at the Coffee Shop afterwards.

Two weeks later, early on a Sunday morning, we tackled the road north of the stone bridge up to the Riccal and found just as much rubbish.
