What’s on in Nunnington in April 2024

The April 2024 Diary is available to read or download at the bottom of this post. Hard copies are available on the Cabbage Patch and in the tearooms.

British Summer Time begins

And, hopefully, the British summer. Don’t forget that clocks go forward at 1 am on Sunday, 31st March. Expect longer, lighter evenings and watch out for the arrival of the first swifts in late April.

The Old Yard Coffee Shop

Sally and Jane re-opened the tea rooms last Wednesday, and many from the village dropped in on the day, delighted to have somewhere in the village to say hello to everyone again. The tea rooms are open until late autumn, Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm inclusive. All are welcome (and dogs, too).

Heads up

Although Easter is at the end of March this year, the impact of the holidays runs into April. See the Diary for changes to rubbish collection, the mobile post office, Nunnington Hall opening times, etc.

***Late news: The Village Hall Committee have procured a licence to run a Pop-up pub on Saturday, 27th April. Details and times are to be confirmed.

The Parish Council meets on Tuesday, 30th April at 7 pm in the Village Hall. All are welcome.

Business listings on nunnington.net

We would love local businesses to advertise their goods and services on this website. Businesses will be asked to contribute a small sum to be included on the site (£10 pa for businesses with an address in the parish, £25 pa for those based outside the parish).Fees will be used to fund the website.

We will shortly publish a specification document and brief T&Cs. It has taken us a little longer than anticipated to get this up and running, so we are extending the time for businesses which want to be listed to get a waiver of the first year’s fee until 30 April.

Please contact website-publisher@nunnington.net for more details.

Wombleton Recycling

The recycling centre at Wombleton is now open every day except Wednesday until 5 pm (changed from 4 pm), and the website address has changed to https://shrtm.nu/uYj
