Parish Council AGM, 28 April 26

Nunnington Parish Council met on Tuesday, 28 April 2026 at 7 pm for the Annual General meeting. The Clerk to the Council has now published the minutes of the meeting, which are reproduced here and provided in full as a downloadable pdf below.

Minutes of the Parish Council AGM held on 28 April 2026 at 7 pm in Nunnington Village Hall

Present: Chairman, Mr Stephen Rook, Mr James Clive, Mrs Mary Thew, Mr David Stamp.

Also present, 1 member of the public.

1. A reminder was given of expectations for the audio and visual recordings of the meeting
2. Apologies were received from Mr John Elphinstone
3. Minutes of the previous meeting held 10thFebruary 2026 were signed by the Chairman as a true and correct record
4. Matters Arising

• Mr Rooke confirmed that the Ecology Report required for the Bridge repair, has been completed and repairs are scheduled for August /September 26. This may coincide with Nunnington Hall’s revised Love Local Event, which must be considered in planning
• Mr Rooke confirmed that after a conversation with Mr Richardson in Ness who will site a defibrillator on his farm building. This is much appreciated and next steps to be confirmed
• Communication with Street Scene to purchase a black waste bin for Church Lane, is still ongoing!
• Highways to be contacted to confirm date of signage and road marking on Station Road, planned for good weather.
• Feedback from the meeting of Parish Council and Yorkshire Water Services was very positive though the impact is going to be significant. It has been agreed that the community will receive monetary compensation; amount to be confirmed
• It was confirmed that CIL funding should be discussed with Parish Council together with Village Hall Committee in order to engage the community
• Confirmation of ‘Nunnington Village Fete’ on 11th July at 4pm, programme and event planning to be confirmed.

5. The Accounts for Nunnington Parish Council 2025-26 were agreed and signed by the Clerk, M Dickinson and Chairman, Mr Stephen Rook
