The July Diary contains details of some important and fun village events (including new rubbish collection times - maybe not fun, but necessary).

Welcome to the July 2025 Diary, which gives details of important events in the village this month. You will find updates and further details on the online calendar at nunnington.net/calendar-months/.

  • The Coffee Morning is on Friday, 4 July, the first Friday of the month, in the Courtyard at Nunnington Studios. It’s an excellent opportunity to catch up with neighbours, so do come along. Sally gives a 10% discount on drinks and cakes to village residents.

  • Please join the Rev’s Sue Bond in our local church at 4 pm on Sunday, 6 July as she celebrates Holy Communion to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of her Ordination to the Priesthood.

  • The Annual Village Cricket Match is on Sunday, 13 July. You are invited to play, umpire, spectate and help. Volunteers to prepare the ground are urgently needed. The match is also an opportunity to raise funds for the replacement of the church windows, which will benefit from proceeds from the sale of cakes and teas during the day. Please contact Andrew Pope to volunteer or for further information.

  • The cricket match is followed by Village Drinks & Nibbles in the Courtyard at Nunnington Studios, also on Sunday, 13 July from 6 pm. As always, bring drinks and nibbles to share, have fun and take your stuff home at the end of the evening. Sally Aspinal and Eliza Foots will be there to help and ensure everything runs as smoothly as usual.

  • Please come along to the Parish Council Meeting on Tuesday, 22 July at 7 pm. All are welcome to listen to discussions concerning important village matters. The agenda will be published by Maggie Dickinson, Clerk to the Council, before the meeting. It will be available on the village notice board and the website.

  • Everyone is very welcome to celebrate the feast of St James, the Patron Saint of the church, with a memorable Songs of Praise service at the Church of All Saints and St James on Sunday, 27 July at 6 pm.

  • Finally, don’t forget that Friday, 1 August, is Yorkshire Day. As last year, it’s the first Friday of the month, so there will be a celebratory Coffee Morning at the Studios.

We are now into the new rubbish collection regime. Collection dates and types for July are in the Diary and in the online calendar until the end of September. We’ve taken these from the NYC website, so please refer to the Calendar if you are confused or uncertain as to what to put out when!
