Parish council vacancy – important update
The election of someone to fill the Parish Council vacancy has more twists and turns. The PC has discussed this at length with the North Yorkshire Council and has concluded that the only way forward is a formal, NYC-run election.
The PC’s message to the parish, which summarizes the discussions and the revised election process, can be read at nunnington.net/20240917-pc-election-update/.
There are now three important dates of which you should be aware.
- Nominations open: Thursday 10 October 24
- Nominations close: 4pm, Friday18 October (To be confirmed by NYC)
- By-election: Thursday 14 November
We will post and email further election process details as they become available.

You can read full details in the Diary and on nunnington.net, but here is a list for your calendar.
Village Coffee Mornings
Coffee mornings will continue in the autumn but will now take place at The Studios on the first Friday of the month (not Thursday) from 10:30 a.m. They’re an excellent chance to catch up with neighbours over Sally’s delicious coffee and Jane’s moreish cakes. Sally and Jane kindly offer a 10% discount on coffee and cakes to Parish residents who come to the Coffee Mornings.
Therefore, the October Coffee Morning is on Friday, 4 October, from 10:30 at Nunnington Studios. All are welcome. These events are proving very popular, so do come along if you are around.
A Yorkshire Year
Robert Dutton exhibits his paintings in Nunnington Hall until 15 December. Entry is free for Parishoners, and Hall opening times are in the Diary.
Harvest Thanksgiving and Bring & Share celebration
Last year’s Festival was a great success, and so Revd Canon Sue Binks and the PCC are repeating the format again this year on Sunday 20 October, 5 pm in the Courtyard at Nunnington Studios.
Details can be found at nunnington.net/event/20241020-harvest-festival/
