This month, we turned the spotlight on Andrew Clive, who has edited and published the war diaries of his grandfather, Ronald Fife. Louise Dwyer, who makes bespoke jewellery at Nunnington Studios, now has a profile in the marketplace section.

Upcoming events

Village Tabletop sale

The tabletop sale is just a few weeks away, so you still have time to rummage through your lofts and cellars. Please call Eimear on 01439 748 434 / 07484 201 518 to book your pitch (first come, first serve).

Village coffee mornings

Coffee mornings take place at the tea rooms on the first Thursday of the month from 10:30 a.m. They’re a good chance to catch up with neighbours over Sally’s delicious coffee and Jane’s moreish cakes. Sally and Jane kindly offer a 10% discount on coffee and cakes to Parish residents who come along.

The August coffee morning is on 1 August, Yorkshire Day (wear a white rose if you can) and then on 5 September.

All are welcome to both events.

Courtyard Drinks and Nibbles

We hope to organise another Courtyard Drinks and Nibbles in late August or early September with music to dance the evening away. When confirmed, details will be on the website and Facebook page.

Parish Council Meeting

The Parish Council met on Thursday, 25th July, at 7 pm in the Village Hall. The next meeting is scheduled for 29 October. All are welcome. Items that may come up for discussion will be posted on the calendar.
