It was a bit damp, but we had fun at the 2024 Nunnington Bash
The 2024 Nunnington Bash took place on the cricket field on 29 June.
175 people came along from Nunnington and surrounding villages and were made welcome. Unfortunately, the Bash clashed with other events in the area on the same evening, and this, rather than the changeable weather, is seen as the main reason for the lower ticket sales.
The main aim of the evening was to entertain the village, and to this extent, the Bash was a huge success, as the photos below demonstrate.
A secondary goal was to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Village Hall. The figures show this was also a success:
- Profit after expenses: £4,451
- Donation to Yorkshire Air Ambulance: £4,000
- Donation to the Village Hall: £451
Victoria and Eimear’s coffee and cake stand brought in £248 (included in the above figures) and has been ringfenced for new curtains in the Village Hall.
Of course, it wouldn’t have happened without all those who volunteered their services, from erecting tents to selling cakes. The volunteer support was crucial and the Village Hall Committee are grateful to all who helped.
